Robert "Bob" Allen Feger

Canton—Robert “Bob” Allen Feger, 74, of Canton, formerly of Lewistown, passed at 11:25pm September 1, 2023 at Carle Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.


He was born June 30,1949 to Robert L and Minnie (Chaney) Feger and stepson of Florence Feger. On May 10,1969 he married Vicki (VanHouten) Feger, whom later divorced yet remained friends.


Together they have 3 children: Ezra (Jamie) of Virginia, Kendyll (Clyde) Breweur of Canton, and Austin (fiancée Alysa Carle) of Farmington; and 11 grandchildren: Xander, Cooper, Aiden, Graecee, Wyatt, Kinleigh, Bentley, Brailey, Addalind, Keenan, and Johnathon. He also leaves behind his sisters Deborah Willis, Sandra Spencer, and Sharon Malueg of WI and several nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, brothers Boyd Morse and Edgar Morse, stepsister Cindy stepsister Yvonne, & stepbrother Duaine Montoure.


Bob was an Army Veteran, serving in Germany during the Vietnam Era as a mechanic and later served in the active Army Reserves in Peoria. Additionally, he became an auxiliary police officer and Lewistown Police Officer. In February 1990, he began his career with Illinois River Correctional Center where he would retire from on December 31st, 2009. He was an avid dirt track racing fan, tolerated NASCAR, loved to travel and to watch old westerns. He enjoyed being outdoors-mowing, going to races (especially with his boys), or tinkering in the garage. His favorite pastime was “shootin’ the shit” with people at the coffee shops.


His family wishes to thank the staff of Methodist hospital, especially Dr. Scott Reid.


Per Bob’s wishes, there will be no services and cremation rites accorded. The family will have a private placement of ashes at a later date.
