Peggy A. Neeley, 72, of Canton, passed away on September 16, 2023 at her residence. She was born on June 12, 1951 in Springfield to Charles L. and Mildred P. (Richards) Neeley. They preceded her in death along with one brother Charles W. Neeley and two sisters; Linda Burger and Charlene Crouse. Surviving is her son Jeffrey (Ana) Stokes of Suwanee, GA, two grandchildren; Emilie and Aidan Stokes, sister Jeanne (Lynn) Overcash of Fairview, brother-in-law Joe Burger of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
Peggy retired from the Illinois River Correctional Center in Canton and was of the Christian faith. She loved her lord.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Fulton County Humane Society.
