He was born on December 29, 1932 to Earl and Mary (Emery) Watson.
He married Charlotte Quigley and later married Shirley Rolloff.
Surviving are his children, Richelle Watson, Portland, OR, Kathryn (John) Gasser of Manhattan, KS, Angie Watson of Canton, Mark Foutch of GA, Leslie (Jason) Peterson of CO, one sister, Dorothy Chenoweth of Canton, eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Richard served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor in 1986. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Wesley United Methodist Church and the Canton VFW. Richard’s passion was working on and driving his Edsel and tractors.
A Masonic service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 11 am, at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton with a funeral service to follow at the church. A visitation will be held one hour prior also at the church.
Burial with military honor’s will be held at White Chapel Memory Gardens.
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton has been entrusted with arrangements.
