Cloma Mae Morse

Cloma Mae Morse, 90, of Keller, Texas, formerly of Orion, Illinois, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Discover Village, Southlake, Texas with family by her side.

Cloma was born July 11, 1932 in Fairview, Illinois to loving parents Edith and Eugene Suydam. After graduating from Valley High School in 1950 she went on to pursue a job working as a secretary in Galesburg, Illinois.
Cloma fell in love with her highschool sweetheart Stephen R. Morse and they wed on March 17, 1951 in Fairview, Illinois going on to have two children, Douglas and Charisse. In 1961 they settled in Orion, Illinois where Cloma was a homemaker and became active in her community. She was a member of The Order of Eastern Star, Henry County Homemaker Extension, Orion Bowling League, and Card Club to name a few. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, watching football and basketball, was passionate about her beautiful flower gardens, loved her many cats over the years and was extremely proud of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Later in life Cloma and Steve relocated to Keller, Texas for warmer weather.
Cloma was a caring, fiercely dedicated woman who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong, independent woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. She was a source of inspiration to us and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Cloma is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Edith Suydam, husband Stephen Morse and brother Leon Suydam.
She is survived by her children Douglas Morse (Melanie) of Muscatine, Iowa; Charisse Byrne (Bill) of Justin, Texas. Grandchildren Andrew Preston of Dallas, Texas; Michael Morse (Erin) of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Ashtin Preston (Sarah) of Haslet, Texas; Philip Morse (Melissa) of Muscatine, Iowa; Dain Preston (McKenzie) of Princeton, Texas; Drake Preston (Aylssa) of Lago Vista, Texas. Great-grandchildren Finn Preston, Soleia Morse, Corbin Morse, William Preston, River Morse and Benjamin Preston.
A special thank you to the staff, nurses and aides at Discovery Village, Southlake, Texas and Hospice Visiting Nurses of Denton. All of you will hold a very special place in our hearts for your loving care of Mom, who loved you all.
In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial in Cloma's name be made to a charity for Multiple Sclerosis, Breast Cancer or donors choice. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Oaks Hines Funeral Home, 1601 East Chestnut, Canton, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Burial will immediately follow the services at Fairview Cemetery.
