Billy Lee Havens

Billy Lee Havens, 90, of Canton, passed away at 11:59 PM on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Graham Hospital in Canton, IL. He was born on May 5, 1932 in McDonough County to William and Vada (Postin) Havens. He married Flora Norville on December 18, 1965 in Industry, IL. She survives.


Billy is also survived by one son, Jim (Kay) Henderson; two grandchildren, James Henderson and Kim (Tim) Garber; four great-grandchildren, Bella Henderson, Calie Welker, Michael Garber, and Timothy Garber; four great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Alicia “Rusti” (Andy) Napier; three nephews, Eric, Evan, and Ethan Pierce; one brother, Ronnie (Linda) Havens; and four sisters, Bertie Winter, Shirley Graham, Jeanie Thompson, and Sarah Sthel.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Frank, Jim, and Bob Havens; four sisters, Alice Head, Betty English, Wilma Virag, and Susie Benham.

Billy was a laborer for 9 years and a foreman for 22 years. He worked for TP&W/Santa Fe Railroad for 31 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He served during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955. He was also a life member of the Canton VFW.

Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM the same day. Pastor Curtis Atchley will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow service at Marietta Cemetery in Marietta, IL. Memorials may be made of the donor’s choice.
