Devon Joe Riddell

Lewistown- Devon Joe Riddell, 25 of Dalhart, passed away on Thursday April 21, 2022 after a tragic automobile accident in Dalhart, Texas. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 4:00PM CST on Monday, April 25, 2022 at the Senior Citizens Center with Amy Gonzales officiating. Interment will be in Lewistown, IL through Henry-Lange Memorial Home. Local arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home.


Devon was born in Peoria, Illinois on November 8, 1996. He is the beloved son of Tony and Marjorie Egerton of Nara Visa, NM, Robert and Birgit Riddell of Arnold, Missouri, Brandon Doyle and Karenda of Mason City and Eric and Amber Schappaugh of Canton, Illinois.

Devon graduated from Wesclin Community High School, Trenton, Illinois in 2015. In high school he participated in Soccer, Boy Scouts, and FFA. He dreamed of being a farmer and loved his job of feeding cows with XIT Feeders in Dalhart, Texas. Devon never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone. He faced life with a positive attitude and never took no or you cant do that for an answer.

Devon is survived by his Parents, Grandparents, James and Patricia Dainty of Havana, Illinois; Joey and Marcy Doyle of Easton, Illinois; Candy Tomlin of Mason City, Illinois; Linda Kinsel of Edinburg, Texas, Clarissa Egerton of Dalhart,Texas, and Dennis and Dolly Riddell of Macomb, Illinois. He is also survived by many siblings: Kristen Schappaugh of Canton, Illinois, Katie Doyle of Easton, Kansas, Zachary Doyle of Mason City, Illinois, Lynn Riddell of Highland, Illinois, Katja Doebelin of Arnold, Missouri, Kristina Doebelin of Skovlunde, Denmark, James and Anthony Egerton of Nara Visa, New Mexico. He is leaving behind many aunts and uncles, cousins, a nephew, a niece, and many friends.

Devon is preceded in death by is grandfathers Steve Tomlin, John Egerton, and two siblings born to heaven.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Thursday April 28th at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown. Burial will be in Waterford Cemetery at rural Lewistown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the memorial home. Online condolences may be made at henrylange.com.
