Rosalie (Columbia) Williams

Farmington – Rosalie (Columbia) Williams, 79, of Farmington, passed away at 1:05 AM on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. She was born on June 2, 1942 in Peoria, IL to Anthony “Tony” and Margaret (Arnet) Columbia. She married Jackie D. Williams on August 11, 1962 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Farmington, IL. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2011.


Rosalie was also preceded in death by her parents; two children, Steven D. Williams and Patrick “Pat” Williams; and one sister, Christine Chasteen.

Surviving is one daughter, Kathleen (Williams) McDermott of McKenna, Washington; four grandchildren, Daniel McDermott, Amy Williams, Dustin Williams, and Samantha McDermont; one sister, Suzanne (Jim) Humphrey; and one brother-in-law, Harold “Jr.” Chasteen.

Rosalie worked as the city treasurer and also with Harris School Crosswalk. She was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in Farmington, Farmington Moose Lodge 1571, Farmington American Legion Post 140, and was a Fulton County Election Judge. Rosalie was a boy and girl scout leader, she loved to help with the Santa parade in Farmington, and helped start the Farmington Museum. She was just a big supporter of the Farmington community.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Farmington, IL, where a visitation will be held from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM. Father Daniel Ebker will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington, IL. Memorials can be made to the family.
