Canton – David A. Nichols, 86, of Canton, passed away at 10:50 AM on Monday, September 16, 2019 at The Loft in Canton, IL. He was born on October 31, 1932, in Farmington, IL to James and Matilda (Brohn) Nichols. He married Patricia A. Jenkins on February 21, 1958 in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Blee A. (Susan) Nichols of Suwanee, Ga, Rick E. (Jenny) Nichols of Canton, IL, and Michael J. Nichols of Burbank, CA; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers, and two sisters.
David Worked for International Harvester for 31 years, first working in Canton then retiring from Navistar in Springfield, OH in 1990. He was a member of Local’s 1357 and 402. David worked part-time later for the Canton Park District and as a custodian for Canton schools. He also loved fishing.
Graveside service will be held at 11:15 on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton, IL. A visitation will be held Saturday from 10 AM – 11 AM at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Rev. Monroe Bailey will officiate.
