John Steven Schauble


Macomb- John Steven Schauble, 73, of Macomb passed away on November 27, 2018 in rural McDonough County.

He was born January 8, 1945 in Macomb the son of Joseph and Emilie (Burger) Schauble. He is survived by three children, Amy Schauble of Leavenworth, KS; Jeannette Schauble of Manito and Danny Schauble of Michigan, six siblings, Herman  Schauble of Paoli, PA; Francis (Karen) Schauble of Yates City, Paul Schauble of Kewanee, IL; Mary (Rick) Caruso of Stow, OH; his twin brother, James (Jonelle) Schauble of Macomb, IL; and David (Peggy) Schauble of Tennessee, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Joan Schauble.

John retired from Caterpillar in East Peoria after 40 years. He was a Vietnam army veteran from 1966-1967. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Macomb, the UAW Local 974 and the Bushnell VFW.

John enjoyed farming, playing 4 point pitch, rummy, line dancing and his family.

Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Father Adam Stimpson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown with military services conducted by the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the memorial home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Macomb.
