Smithfield- Russell Rector Jr; 95, of Smithfield, passed away at 3:20 AM Tuesday July 19, 2016 at rural Smithfield.
He was born May 23, 1921 at Smithfield, the son of Russell Fate and Marie (Watson) Rector. He married Rhae Robinson on March 4, 1950 at Kewanee. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include one daughter, Linda (Kendall) Sill of rural Smithfield, two granddaughters, Laura Sill of Clearwater, FL; and Sarah Sill of Elgin, and one sister, Lois Ault of Amberst, VA.
Russell farmed for many years, and had also drove a school bus for Cuba School District before retiring. He served as treasurer for Cass Township for many years.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba, where visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Baughman Cemetery at rural Smithfield.
