Barbara Geier
Canton
– Barbara E. Geier, 70, of Canton, passed away at 9:40 p.m. on Thursday July 7,
2016, at her home.
She
was born on February 6, 1946 in New York, to Harley and Evelyn (Powers) Young. She married Raymond A. Geier on December 26,
1964, in Carthage, New York. He survives
Also
surviving are three children, Raymond Geier of Loveland, Colorado, Cherie
(Darren) Ramsey of Juliette, Georgia, and Linda Geier of Fairview; three
brothers, Charles “Sonny” Young, Butch Young, and James Young; one sister,
Sharon Card; seven grandchildren, Dustin Ramsey, Tyler Heinz, Bradley Heniz,
Desiree Jones, Tory Geier, Keifer Geier, and Stephen Geier; and two
great-grandchildren, Xavier and Skyler Jones.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one brother.
Barbara
worked for Aramark food services, and for Canton School District as a
custodian. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, dining out, and spending time with
her grandchildren. She was a member of
St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton.
A
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at St.
Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from
5-7 p.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s
Catholic Cemetery in Canton.
