Ronald is survived by his wife, Janis Hackman of Havana; children, Suzanne (Leland) Treebs of Escondido, California, Ben (Kristen) Hackman of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and Jeffrey (Jenny) Hackman of Havana; seven grandchildren; siblings, Marilyn (John) Carpenter and Marcia Hackman, both of Westminster, Colorado and Mark (Cathy)Hackman of Havana; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ronald was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana. He served in the Army following graduation. He farmed for many years on his family’s farm. He served on the Mason District Hospital Board, the Havana National Bank board, and the Gideon’s. He enjoyed traveling, farming, and spending time with his grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Ian Heinze will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Military detail will be provided by VFW Post #6408 and American Legion Post #138.
