Mary E. Raikes

Mary Evelyn Raikes, 94, of Oakford passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia. She was born on May 11, 1928 in Oakford, IL to Marshall and Blanche (Magee) McHenry. She married Charles Thomas Raikes on October 23, 1948 in Oakford.

Mary is survived by her children, Sam (Yvonne) Raikes of Ashland, IL, Jane (Greg) Rebbe, Ron Raikes both of Petersburg, Julie (George) Atterberry, Mary Beth (Jim) King both of Oakford; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents; her children, Mack Raikes, Tom Raikes, Linda Klopfenstein; and two granddaughters.
Mary enjoyed many things in life including crafting, sewing, and baking. She was a member of the Oakford United Methodist Church in Oakford.
A private family service will be held for many at a later date. Rev. Carol Stuffelbeam will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakford Cemetery in Oakford, IL. Memorials may be made to the Oakford United methodist Church.
