Kay was born on May 16, 1941, in Canton, the daughter of Leslie and Naomi (Rock) Eveland. Kay worked most of her career at Emery Worldwide, later UPS Freight Forwarding, in Peoria, before moving to Graham Medical Group in Canton. Upon retirement, she volunteered at the local charity, Love, Inc. Forever compassionate, exuberant, and artistic, Kay enjoyed antiquing, interior decorating, designing crafts, reading novels and playing games with her family, doting on those close to her, lending a helping hand to anyone who crossed her path, whether she knew them or not, and attending Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Marvin Bricker. Survivors include five children, Michael Guiietz (Kim Collie), Michelle (Robert) VanAnda, Marvin (Valinda) Bricker, Manning (Amber) Bricker, and Mindy Bricker; three stepchildren, Debbie (Davy) Squires, Kenneth (Robin) Bricker, and Donald (Shellie) Bricker; seven grandchildren, Lauren Allison, Kira VanAnda, Ashton Bricker, Jacob Bricker, Ricky Bricker, Rayne Bricker, and Griffin Guiietz; nine step-grandchildren, Gary Voyles, Jason Voyles, David Allen, Tommy Bricker, Ben Bricker, Ashlea Squires, Samm Bricker, David Squires III, and Darrin Squires; three great-grandchildren, Paxton Martinez, Sophie Martinez, and Logan Powell; and five great-step-grandchildren, Tyler Voyles, Vanessa Voyles, Izabella Allen, Brayden Voyles, and Bennie Day Bricker.
Kay is greatly loved and her creativity, empathy, generosity, and friendship—not to mention her smart wit, quick humor, and infectious laugh—will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Per Kay’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton. A graveside service and burial of ashes will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Canton.
