He was born on August 31, 1956, in Peoria, to James and Kathryn (Bales). They preceded him in death along with one brother John.
He is survived by two children Crindy (Joseph) Hedges, and Adam Porter, four sisters, Diane Gilstrap, Terri Psinas, Jamie Leeper, and Donna Nelson, and nine grandchildren, Savannah, Andrew, Trevor, Jireh, Chloe, Judah, Kage, Willa and Lyric.
Jerold was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he was a mechanic. He was a very talented welder, carpenter, and gardener. He worked as a farmhand over the years and was a “jack of all trades”. He enjoyed mushroom and arrowhead Deer hunting, motorcycles, fishing, playing 10,000 and playing guitar Tuesday pool playing and relaxing watching The Curse of Oak Island with friends was something he always looked forward to.
A Celebration of life will be held at the Canton Assembly of God Church (200 Stonegate Drive Canton, Illinois 61520) on Friday March 24, 2023. Military Honor’s will be rendered at 2:00 p.m. with the service to follow.
