Also surviving are his children, Debbie (Brad) Lansford of Canton, Diana (Bob) Barnes of Canton; his beloved cat Lizzie Mae; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Janet Tompkins of Cuba.
He was preceded in death by both parents; and his brother, Dennis Bump.
Eddie worked as a strip miner until he retired in 2000; then worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Local 649, and retired from there in March of 2010. He was also a lifelong farmer. Eddie was a member of the Locust Lane Church of Canton and of the United Mine Workers of America, Local Union 7110. Outside of work, Eddie was an avid outdoorsman. His special interests included; fishing, playing pool at the Rec Center, playing cards (Pitch), gardening, and of course spending time with his family.
Cremation rites have been accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes and Crematory. A graveside service will be held at 12:00PM, on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Locust Lane Cemetery.
