Mary M. (Senders) Barnes, 89, of Canton, passed away at 7:57 PM on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Renaissance Care Center in Canton, IL.
She was born on November 13, 1931, in rural Salem Township, Knox County near Farmington, the fifth of eight children of Leonard and Nina (Spence) Senders. She married Carroll L. Barnes on October 23, 1948 in Lewistown. He passed away on September 1, 2019.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth (Katherine) Barnes of Chillicothe, a granddaughter, Cara (Jeff) Shoup of Mesa, AZ, a grandson, Jason (Ashley) Barnes of Chillicothe, five great grandchildren, Adam Bridges, Emma Bridges, Carissa Barnes, Nicklaus Barnes, Anderson Barnes, and a daughter-in-law, Maureen (Chap) Barnes of Rolling Meadows, IL.
She was preceded in death by a son, Rodger Bruce Barnes, her parents, five sisters, and two brothers.
Mary was a homemaker.
Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. A private burial of ashes will be held at a later date at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton, IL.
