Linda L. Black, 80, of Lewistown, passed away Monday December 7, 2020 at her home.
She was born September 11, 1940 at Canton, the daughter of Leo and Lillian (Burgess) Chasteen. She married William D. Black on August 28, 1980 at Lewistown. He passed away on December 3, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Mark Reed, one brother, Harold Chasteen, and three sisters, Betty Jump, Wanda Adrian, and Doris Runyon. Survivors include two sons, Doug (Diana) Reed of Cuba, and Ty (Julie) Reed of Lewistown, six grandchildren, Jamie (Jared) Butler of Lewistown, Brandon (Kristen) Reed of Jacksonville, Brian (Natalie) Reed of Lewistown, Payton Reed of Cuba, Jennifer Wright of Iowa, and Eric (Sara) Lawson of Canton, eight great grandchildren, one brother, Everett (Shirley) Chasteen of East Peoria, and two sisters, Peggy Aldrich of Lewistown, and Rosie Burrows of Lewistown.
Linda had worked as a hairdresser many years. She had served on the Spoon River Towers Council and was very active with fundraisers. She was a member of the Lewistown United Methodist Church. She was an avid St Louis Cardinals fan and loved watching all kinds of sports. She loved her family and adored her grandkids, and was a selfless, giving, loving, and non-judgmental person.
A private family graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown, with Pastor Shane Smith officiating. There will be no public visitation.
