Survivors: Daughter-Patricia (and Stan) Briney-Schisler of Brownig, IL; 2 grand dogs-Maggie and Willie; 3 step-grandchildren: Aaron (and Becky) Pierson, Stan (and Jennifer) Schisler, Jr., and Kimber Schisler; 5 step-great-grandchildren; Sister-in-law-Linda Havens of Marietta, IL; Sister-in-law-Barbara DeRenzy of Bushnell, IL; Brother-in-law-Kenny (and Nancy) DeRenzy of Macomb, IL; Brother-in-law-Robert “Slick” DeRenzy of Canton, IL; Many cousins, nieces, and nephews, including 1 special great-niece, Ashley DelMastro, RN, who took care of Dennis at Renaissance Care Center during his final 2 months.

Occupation: Owner/Operator of Earl and Earl D. Trucking, founder of ED Double P Incorporated, and farmed, earning the 2019 Master Farmer of the Year for Schuyler County.
Military: US Navy veteran, serving from 1953 to 1957, at the end of the Korean War, where he took the world tour aboard the USS Cowell Destroyer.
Memberships: Dennis enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Havana Bowling Hall of Fame. He loved to travel, especially to the gambling boats. He enjoyed woodworking and even built his own home. He was a classic car enthusiast and attended many car shows. He was a member of the Hickory-Kerton Fire Dept., was founder and President of the Hickory-Kerton Water District, was the Multi Township Tax Assessor for Schuyler County, was a member of the Hickory Township Cemetery Board, the Astoria American Legion Post #25, and the Astoria Lions Club. Dennis enjoyed breakfast, especially at the Browning Senior Center or the State Street Grill in Astoria. Dennis really enjoyed entertaining family and friends with cook outs and hog roasts. The family plans on holding a Celebration of Life next Summer.

Visitation: Friends may call after 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 20th at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 4-6 pm.
Interment: Bluff City Cemetery with military rites by the Astoria American Legion Post #25.
Memorials: Great River Honor Flight, Quincy, IL or the Hickory Township Cemetery Board.
