She was preceded in death by one sister Shelby Quick, one grandfather Steven Walton, three great grandparents Leon Gehrke, JoAnne Miller, Wilbur Miller, one great uncle Ryan Gehrke, and one second cousin Chase Hires.

While we are grieving our loss and our hearts are filled with sorrow, we take great comfort in knowing that some of the best are taking care of her and that she’s getting to play with Chandler, her dog she recently lost.

Adeline lived life to its fullest. She could always make you laugh with a quick wit and the most dynamic personality. She loved her uncle and grandparent’s dog, Dexter, Dani and Lily. She loved her CAPA ballet family, her best friends Delaynee, Sofi, Leah, and Braelynn, talking to midnight with Althea, Cece, and Cocoa. She taught us all to love harder with her constant constant, cuddles and kisses.

Adeline dreamed of being a famous actress and was able to film Peoria TV Show. We are so thankful that in her short life, she had such an amazing life. She enjoyed family vacations, loved the ocean, got to fly, went to Disneyland and Disney World, saw Pikes Peak, eat VooDoo donuts in Portland OR, and Wisconsin Dells, to name a few.

She loved her family harder than anyone I’ve ever met. We will never forget her and she will always be missed. I feel so blessed that I got to be her mom and her dad feels the same.

A private family service will be held at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Cremation rites will follow the service. Betty Ruth Collins

Betty Ruth Collins, 94, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Loft in Canton with her Children at her side.

She was born on December 6, 1926 in Fort Morgan, CO to George and Daisey Mae (Oren) Gilmore.

She married Russell Collins on December 25, 1945 in Canton.  He preceded her in death on October 4, 2011.  Betty was also preceded in death by two sons, Denny and Kent Collins. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jesse Gardner and Annabelle Ellis, four siblings which passed during the 1918 Flu epidemic.

Surviving are her children, Lynn (Jeff McCoy) Collins-McCoy of Canton, Chris (Christine Boyd) Collins of Appleton, WI, fifteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She has left a void that will never be filled because there is no other love in the world like the love of a Mother.

She was so much to so many.  We were so blessed to have her and Dad as parents.  They taught us many values, compassion for all people, but most of all love.  She was "Mom", "Grandma" and "Friend" to so many, always wanting feed you.  Always a little giggle for everything. She loved family and was happiest when we were all around.  Mom and Dad were easy and fun to be with, but also our friends, even calling or stopping by on New Year (when WE were in bed) to wish us a Happy New Year.

She was an accomplished seamstress tackling everything from hems to wedding dresses to upholstery.  She also loved to dance and roller-skate.

Betty's family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Betty's home care givers and all the care givers at the Loft in Canton.  All of your care surpassed all of our expectations.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of her life along with the burial of the ashes at Greenwood Cemetery will be held in the spring.
