Canton -Rosalie K. Shawgo, 78, formerly of St. David, passed away at 11:53 am Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on January 8, 1944 in Canton to Elzie and Mable (Dean) Shawgo. They preceded her in death.She married Charles Shawgo on May 25, 1985 in Canton. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2018.
Surviving are her children; William E. DeGroot of Canton, Lisa (John) McKeever of Canton, Alan (Lene) DeGroot of Poplar Bluff, MO, three step-children; Kevin (Sheila) Shawgo of Canton, Cynthia (Randy) Myers of Canton and Brian (Janice) Shawgo of Breeds, one brother Robert (Diane) Shawgo of Canton, 8 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and her step great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son Brian (Kim) DeGroot of Fiatt, 2 sisters, Katherine Gravison and Gladys Wages.
Rosalie was a member of Church of Brethren in Canton. She enjoyed horseback riding, Reading and crocheting.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 2-4 pm at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. Cremation rites will follow and a private burial of the ashes will be held at Blackjack Cemetery. There will be no funeral service.
