Joanne E. Painter

Joanne E. Painter, 86, of Lewistown, passed away at 3:20 pm, Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at her residence. She was born on July 10, 1935 in Hancock County, IL. to Lyle and Reva (Hobart) Woodside. Joanne married Donald Painter on May 15, 1953 in Disco, IL. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2015. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Surviving are six children; Leslie Painter of North Carolina, Duane L. (Suzanne) Painter of Conroe, TX, Marie E. Painter of Pekin, Alan J. (Penny) Painter of Bolingbrook, Daniel E. (Donna) Painter of Marquette Heights, and James D. Painter of Lewistown, sister Karen (Jay) Smith of Grosse Ile, MI, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and Terri Churchill of Dunlap, former wife of Leslie.
Joanne retired from Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, where she worked as a heart monitor tech. She was baptized in 1957 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Joanne enjoyed knitting slippers and sharing them with friends across the country. She loved caring for animals and tending to plants and flowers.
A virtual memorial talk will be scheduled. Burial of her remains will be at a later date at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorials can be made to the Canton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton will be handling arrangements.
