Lewistown- Norma J. Chambers Pace, 84, of Lewistown, IL passed away Sunday July 8, 2018 at Mason District Hospital. She passed peacefully with her family at her side.
She was born on May 5, 1934, in Lewistown to Lloyd M. and Mildred B. (Brush) Chambers. She married Bob Pace on January 13, 1973. She is survived by her sister, Sue Roat (Dean) Hall of Havana, brother, David (Joyce) Chambers, sister-in-law, Pat (Roger) Weese all of Lewistown, aunts, Ruby Chambers Dean, Ollie Brush Weese and Waneta Brush, several nieces and nephews, and many friends including her homemaker Becky Powell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Danny and her ex-husband.
Norma worked for 23 years at Mason District Hospital in the business office. Norma was a member of the Havana Church of the Nazarene but had attended the Free Methodist Church in Lewistown for several years after moving back to Lewistown. Norma was a wonderful helper in both churches she attended. She worked for many years as a children’s worker and as a secretary at the Church of the Nazarene and led weekly Bible Study at the Free Methodist Church. Only eternity will reveal all she did. She loved to crochet and give hand towels out to her friends and relatives at Christmas. She loved her two lap dogs Molly and Fancy.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday July 12th at the Lewistown Free Methodist Church with Reverend Carl Denham officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Wednesday July 11th at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Havana Church of the Nazarene building fund or the Lewistown Free Methodist Church.
