Linda Russell

Linda Lucille (Davison) Russell, age 64 was known to those she touched for her loving heart, gentle spirit and overflowing generosity. Sadly after a few evenings of uncertainty, Linda took her last earthly breaths and passed peacefully in her sleep. She was surrounded throughout the day by her beloved family. Linda decided to meet Jesus on Sunday, May 6th 2018, 6:23 PM at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria Illinois. Although we are saddened by this loss we believe with great certainty she was greeted with open arms by both parents along with a playful welcome nuggie from her older brother Bill.

Linda was born in Monmouth, IL on June 5, 1953 to Harrison William C. Davison and L. Irene (Courtney) Davison of Canton. She was married to Chuck Russell for 42 years. Together they built a family, a home and a lifetime of memories in the village of Brereton, IL.

Linda is survived by her husband, Chuck Russell of Brereton, IL; one son, Brian (Annette) Russell of Mahomet, IL; six grandchildren, Brenton Rhodes & Bryson Russell of Brereton, IL, Brandon Alford of Savoy, IL, Cirena Russell of Bartonville, IL, and Marissa Alford & Bryan (Junior) Russell of Mahomet, IL; one great-granddaughter, Aria Alford of Savoy, IL; one sister, Sandra (William) Long of Vermont, IL; and sister- in- law Jane Davison of Lewistown, IL; and also several loved nieces (great nieces), nephews (great nephews) and cousins.

She was preceded in death by both parents, one brother, William “Bill” Claude Davison, and other beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Those blessed by Linda’s presents needed to plan for an entire day of adventure. She was always willing to stop at a last-minute yard sale, Family Dollar or Chinese buffet. On any given morning one could find her in the kitchen making some kind of delicious treat to share with a neighbor or cherished family member. She gave selflessly of her time and showered everyone she loved with kindness. Linda was a member of His River of Life Church in Liverpool, enjoyed taking care of her family as a homemaker, and was an avid gardener. She enjoyed summers of fishing, decorating the yard and watching Dr. Phil with her puppies.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Pastor Sheldon Westerfield will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Memorials can be made to His River of Life Church in Liverpool or to Fulton County Humane Society.
