Kenneth E. Derry, 89, of El Paso, IL, formerly of Macomb and Ipava, IL, passed away at 6:25 am on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Heritage Manor El Paso. He was born on May 26, 1928 in Ipava, the son of Leonard and Nellie (Cleer) Derry. Kenneth married Doris Lalicker on August 14, 1949 in Ipava, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are his three sons, John (and Jane) Derry of Brea, CA, James (and Sandy) Derry of Bloomington, IL and Mark (and Cindy) Derry of Lisle, IL, daughter, Joann (and Tom) Prunty of Glen Ellyn, IL, 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his infant brother, Albert Derry.
Kenneth was a payroll clerk and purchasing agent for Peabody Coal, ASARCO coal companies and LTD Industries in Lewistown, IL. He later worked for Walmart in Macomb, retiring in 1998.
He served in the Illinois National Guard.
Kenneth was a member of the Berean Christian Church in Ipava, Maple Avenue Christian Church in Macomb, and Eastview Christian Church in Bloomington, IL.
Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Brad Prunty and Brian Prunty will be officiating. A visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in the Ipava Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Berean Christian Church in Ipava, IL or Western Illinois University Campus Students for Christ and can be sent to Shawgo Memorial Home at PO Box 525, Astoria, IL 61501
