Virginia P. “Kit” Fithian


Lewistown- Virginia P. “Kit” Fithian, 91, of Lewistown passed away at 12:50 AM Saturday January 27, 2018 at Renaissance Care Center in Canton.

She was born September 20, 1926 at Detroit, MI; the daughter of William A. and Alva Mae (Tate) Barker. She married George “Bob” Fithian Jr. on January 2, 1954 at Canton. He died April 2, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Steve Fithian, one daughter, Laura Walker and two sisters. Surviving are three children, Kellie (John) McKenzie of Lewistown, Bob (Cyd) Fithian of Newburgh, IN; and Cathy Mattress of Spokane, WA; two sisters, Wanda Chambers of Lewistown and Angie Jackson of Athens, AL; one brother, Bill Barker of Dexter, MO; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Kit was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lewistown United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star and the Lewistown Jr. and Sr. Women’s club. Kit enjoyed china painting, knitting and traveling.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Shane Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the memorial home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family and will be designated by them to the charity of their choice.
