James A. May


Dunfermline – James A. May, 74, of Dunfermline, passed away at 6:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 1, 1943 in Canton to Dean E. and Jeanne (Suydam) May. He married Gladys Carver on March 19, 1965 at the St. David Nazarene Church. She survives.

Also surviving are two children; Sandra (Michael) Tomich of Canton, and Allen (Becky) May of Cuba; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joseph May; brother, Willard May; sister, Janice May.

James worked for the United States Postal Service over 30 years. He was a member of the St. David Nazarene Church. James was also a veteran of the United States Army.

Services will be held at 11 Am on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL, where a visitation will be held from 10-11 AM. Pastor Martha Danielson will officiate. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memory Gardens with Military Honors in Canton, IL. Memorials can be made to American Diabetes Association, 2580 E.
