Canton – Russell J. Fitch, 68, of Canton, passed away at 6:44 AM on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Graham Hospital in Canton. He was born on April 24, 1949 in Avon to Edgar J. and Edna (Yocum) Fitch. He married Betty Clark on January 27, 1968 in Canton, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Sherri Smith, Laura (Roger) Smith, and Carrie (Ben) Wheeler; three grandchildren, Caitlynn Fitch, Benjamin Wheeler, and Abbigail Wheeler; four sisters, Shirley (Matt) Bouc, Pat (James) Althiser, Mary (Denny) Bankert, and Judy (Bob) Moore; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles James Fitch; one sister, Neomia Watkins; and three nieces, Heather Watkins, Elaine Shores, and Leighann Williamson.
Russell worked for Caterpillar. He loved the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, playing pool and cards, and going fishing.
Russell was PFC in the Army and served during Vietnam.
