John O. Markello

Canton – John O. Markello, 91, of Canton, passed away at 6:47 AM on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Graham Hospital. He was born on January 1, 1926 in Rolla, MO to Joseph and Lois (Smith) Markello. He married Betty J. Girard on July 10, 1948 in Canton, IL. She preceded him in death on May 17, 2016.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Fern Kaps.

Surviving is one daughter, Julie (Kermit) Negley of Canton; one grandson, Zachary J. Negley of Canton; one brother, William (Rose) Markello of Canton; and one sister, Genevieve (Don) Friedrich.

John retired from International Harvester after 40 years of service. He then volunteered at Graham Hospital.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory, where a visitation will be held from 10-11 AM.
