Fairview – Linda R. Vandermeer, 54, of Fairview, passed away at 10:38 AM on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center after a 15 year long battle with pancreatitis. She was born on August 6, 1962 in South Carolina to Jim and Harriett (Conklin) Keefauver. She married David Vandermeer on January 24, 1980 in Canton. He survives.
Also surviving is her father, Jim (Tommie) Keefauver; one son, David W. (Vanessa) Vandermeer Jr. of East Galesburg; one grandson, Gunner William Vandermeer; one brother, Jimmie K. (Sherri) Keefauver of Smithfield; two sisters, Cindy (Allen) Thompson of Canton, and Lisa (Rick) Bybee of Brereton; and two best friends, Joyce Keefauver and Patti Carpentier.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Harriett, and her son, William Joseph Vandermeer.
Linda worked as a CNA at Renaissance Care Center, Farmington Country Manor, Heartland Health Care, Pekin Hospital, and Graham Hospital. She loved to go camping, fishing, and spending time with her grandson.
Services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton. Burial will follow the services at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, IL. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Fulton County Humane Society or Fairview Volunteer Fire Department.
