Quentin G. Hand


Lewistown- Quentin G. Hand, 97, of Lewistown, passed away at 11:20 PM Wednesday April 26, 2017 at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.

He was born October 2, 1919 at Pipestone, MN; the son of Albert and Anna (Hansen) Hand. He married Rosalie Higgins on January 27, 1942 at Palmyra, MO. She preceded him in death on March 17, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Orville Hand. Survivors include two sons. William Hand of Excello, MO; Craig (Jeannie) Hand of Lewistown, a daughter in law, Cynthia Helle of Astoria, five grandchildren, Brandon Hand, Eric (Rhonda) Hand, Alex (Nikki) Hand, Aleesha Hand, and Evan Hand, two step grandchildren, Tracy (Dallas) Burhans, and Todd (Miki) Farwell, three nieces, Tana (Terry) Anderson, Dee (Mike) Williams, and Karen (Larry) Shonkwiler, and one nephew, Jim (Mary Lou) Higgins.

Quentin worked as an insurance agent and was co-owner of Midwest Sales Company. He was a WW 2 Army Aircorp veteran with the 12th Air Force Division. He was a recipient of the distinguished flying cross, 5 campaign clusters, an air medal, and the distinguished unit citation. He was a member of the Peoria Masonic Lodge, Mohammed Temple Shrine, Lewistown VFW Post 5001, and Lewistown American Legion Post 1.

A visitation will be held Tuesday from 10-11 AM with a masonic service at 11:00 AM. At Henry-Lange Memorial home in Lewistown. A graveside service will immediately follow the masonic service at Oak Hill Cemetery with military rites conducted by his VFW and American Legion posts.
