Canton -
Evelyn (Sherwood) Williams, 83, of Canton, passed away at 6:15 PM
Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Heartland Healthcare Center, Canton.
She
was born in rural St. Augustine, IL on October 26, 1931 to Russell and
Vera (Clark) Sherwood. She married Robert E. Williams on March 23, 1984
at the Monterey United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on
January 23, 1987.
Surviving are step children; a great niece and nephew; and two nephews including Michael Robinson of Canton.
Also
preceding her in death were her parents; an infant brother; a sister,
Mary Jo Robinson; and brother-in-law George Robinson.
Evelyn
graduated from Canton High School and Graham Hospital School of
Nursing. She was a retired R.N., and Administrator and Co-Owner of
Sherwood Nursing Home for 20 years.
She was a member of the Monterey United Methodist Church, the Neuropathy Association, and the National Granite Society.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Greenwood Cemetery.
Rev. Rebecca Gearhart will officiate. Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home, Canton is in charge of Arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Monterey United Methodist Church.
