Lewistown – Charlotte May Marks,
89, of Lewistown, formerly of Bloomington/Normal, died at 12:45 p.m. Sunday,
February 8, 2015 at her residence.
She was born on January 20, 1926
near Waynesville, IL to Ollie King and Winnie Inez (Hull) Matheny.
She married Dale Marks on December
19, 1943 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on February 23, 1994.
Survivors include sons: Edd
(Linda) of Cuba, IL. and Steve (Barb) of Georgetown, KY; grandchildren Thad,
Katie, and Tim; great-grandchildren Grace, Camden, and Kara; Brother Bill Matheny
of Kenney, IL and sister Irene Weinel of Hatfield, AR.
Charlotte was an avid baseball
fan, enjoyed travel, antiquing, and cake decorating. She retired from Decorator’s
Grocery of Bloomington after ten years where she also taught candy making
classes. Previously she worked as a waitress in several restaurants in
Bloomington.
As per her wishes, no visitation
or funeral is planned.
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton
is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to BroMenn
Hospice or charity of the donor’s choice.
Her last wish was to thank family
and friends for the memories.
