Virginia Marie Chrisco was born August 21, 1940, to Otis and Hilda Chrisco of St.
Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Bishop Dubourg High School in St. Louis, MO.
She was married to Roy G. Ryder on June 2, 1962 and gave birth to four children:
twin sons, Joseph and James in 1963, followed by two daughters, Jeannie in 1964 and;
Julie in 1973.
Virginia worked as a waitress for Minnie's in Arnold, MO, as a CNA for Martin Manor
Nursing Home in Havana, and retired as a Homemaker from Mason Co. Health Dept.
in Havana.
Virginia was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church from 1973-2011 and St.
Mary's Catholic Church in Lewistown from 2011 until her passing. She also enjoyed
attending services at St. Barnabas in Havana.
She was a beloved wife, and incredible mother, cherished grandmother and adored
great-grandmother. She was proceeded in death by her parents as well as all her
siblings: Otis Chrisco Jr., Mary A. Chrisco, and Betty Switzer, her niece Linda Jasper
(all of St. Louis, Mo); her husband, Roy, and their sons Jim and Joe Ryder (both of
MO).
She leaves behind two children: Jeannie Ryder (of MO) and Julie (Doug) Richardson
of Havana, IL; 11 grandsons: Cassidy, Spencer, Ash, Dakota and Levi Heath, Ben and
Josh Ryder (all of MO), Brad, Brock, Bryce and Brendon Richardson (of Havana, IL);
11 great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Brianna, Brent, Ella, Brylee, Brystol, Braxton and
Dulcie Richardson (all of Havana, IL); Alex Heath, Tre Ryder and Willow Ryder (all of
MO). Virginia also leaves behind one niece, Brenda (Sam) Marcus as well as multiple
great nephews, great nieces and great-great nephews and nieces (all of MO).
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at St. Patrick's
Catholic Church with Fr. John Horton and David Whiteside officiating. Burial will
follow in the St. Charles Cemetery. Cards may be sent to the family at 18029 ECR
1700 N, Havana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist
with expenses. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements.
