Steven D. Hodgkins, Sr.

Stephen D. Hodgkins Sr., 82, of Smithfield, passed away, Monday, April 17, 2023, at his home. He was born on March 17, 1941, in Peoria to Lewis and Esther (Williamson) Hodgkins. They preceded him in death. Steve is survived by his wife, Irene L. (Lair) Hodgkins, whom he married on December 24, 1973 in Rochester, Illinois. Also surviving are three daughters, a son, three step daughters and three step sons, several grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. Steve retired from Caterpillar in 1993 after 30 years. He is a Veteran of the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. Steve enjoyed tractors of all kind and farming. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. a burial of ashes will take place at a later date at Marietta Cemetery.
