He was born September 5, 1936 at Smithfield, the son of James D. and Ruth (Miller) Baughman. He first married Sandra Foster, and later married Regina “Jeannie” Cook on November 16, 1985 at Smithfield. She survives with four children, Scott (Tammy) Baughman, Todd (Sheila) Baughman, and Curtis (Debbie) Baughman all of Smithfield, and Cindy Harders of Roseville, two step children, Billy (Terri Kay) Davison of Lewistown, and Tonya (Jeff Lafary) Thompson of Smithfield, fourteen grandchildren, Jeremiah Baughman, Kara Dalton, Nicholas Baughman, Katilyn Baughman, Devin Baughman, Melissa Taylor, Cameron Baughman, Logan Baughman, Daniel Baughman, Jacie Baughman, Emily Trimpe, Cassandra Peterson, Tiffany Harders, and Ryan Harders, five step grandchildren, Tanisha Davison, Taylor Davison, Dusty Davison, Kelsey Pribble, and Kyler Thompson, twelve great grandchildren, six step great grandchild, one brother, John Baughman of Cameron, and two sisters, Lois (Creel) White of Smithfield, and Rita Kaye Baughman of Lebanon, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, one great granddaughter, Hope, one great grandson, Reid, one step great grandson, Gabriel Davison, and one infant sister.
James was a retired farmer. He had served in the United States Army Reserves.
Services will be held at 11 am Thursday April 20, 2023 at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba where visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Pastor Billy Davison will be officiating.
