Helen M. Fray

Helen Fray, 100, of Canton, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, March 31, 2023. She was born on June 6, 1922 in St. David to Frank and Helen (Tomlianovich) Tadejevic. She married Bill Fray in Palmyra, MO. on February 26, 1942. She is proceeded in death by her husband and son, Jim Fray. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce A. (Jerry) Batterton of Canton, four grandchildren; Mike (Jeanie) Batterton, Michele (Atoya Jones) Batterton, Billy Fray and Kim (Kurt) Rogers, eleven great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Helen loved her family and always wanted to know about the grandkids. She enjoyed knitting, especially afghans and embroidering. She was devoted in her faith and always made sure she had her rosary. Most of all she loved to dance, especially the polka.

Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 11 am, where visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Canton. Memorials can be made to the St. Mary’s Food Pantry. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton are in charge of arrangements.
