She was born on June 6, 1935 in Cushing, IA to Roland and Loreta (Powell) Whyte.
She married Raymond Studer on September 11, 1954, in Lena, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2018.
Surviving is her son, Blaine Studer of Glasford and a daughter Denice (Terry Haynes) Studer of Canton, one grandchild, Michelle Franzoni, four step grandchildren: Grant Tyler, Gabriel Tyler, Holly Kennedy, Blake Tyler and several great–grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Miles Studer, one brother, Duane Whyte and one sister, Lillian Whyte.
Phylis worked as a self-employed beautician. She enjoyed riding her horse Julie, putting together puzzles, playing with cats and could cook a meal out of anything she had on hand. She and her husband were sponsors for Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos International and helped several generations of children all of who she thought of as her own.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 11am until 1pm at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. A funeral service will be held at 1pm also at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at Brunswick Cemetery in rural Canton following the service. A meal will be held at the White Chapel Church in rural Glasford following the burial.
Memorials may be made to the Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos International.
