Paul is also survived by his three children, Jillian (Nick) Widger of Canton, Crystal Coulter of Oswego, IL, and Craig Collins of Canton; 7 Grandchildren, Karen, Megan, and Allison Widger, Tucker Ashley, Dylan Prah, and Dekota and Ashton Collins; his brother, Charles (Dorothy) Collins of Jacksonville, FL; his four sisters, Nancy (Clifford) Wright of Canton, Tonja (Curtis) Huff of Hanna City, Cassandra Sorenson of Bartonville, and Jo Braun of Santa Claus, IN; Jared Williams, who was like a son him; and his very special friend, Maria Rounds.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his brother, Tom Collins; and his sister, Tootie (Clara) McBride.
Paul spent a good portion of his life working for TCI Cable Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, and of the Illinois ABATE Association. Paul held a leadership role within AA, was a Chairman for NA, and President of the SFC. When he wasn’t participating in his social activities, he could be found fishing, reading books written by his favorite American author, Louis L’Amour, or watching John Wayne films. He also enjoyed listening to classic rock, taking long hot soaks in the tub, and spending some much enjoyed and cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Cremation Rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes and Crematory. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
