As a wife, and mother of four, Betty went back to college in 1978, and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in teaching from Bradley University. She taught for 25 years for District 150 Public School District at Valeska Hinton, Harrison, and Irving Schools.
For the past few years, Betty attended OSF Senior World four times per week. The family would like to thank the staff for all the care and kindness they showed Betty when she was there. She enjoyed making new friends, and being amongst her peers.
Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and she lived her life for her children, and grandchildren. She adored spending time with her family and loved getting to share in each of their milestones in life.
Cremation rites will be accorded through Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Bartonville. Per Betty’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. Friends and family will be invited to attend a private celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to SAMS Stray Animal Midway Shelter in Hanna City, IL., in Betty’s name.
