Doris D. Norton, 82, of Canton, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on August 3, 1940 in Canton to Sylvester and Barbara (Leigh) Cruser. They preceded her in death.She married Joseph V. Norton on December 18, 1958 in Pekin. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2001.
Surviving are her children, John (Lauren) Norton of Virginia Beach, VA, Joetta (Jim) Fischer of Dripping Springs, TX, Julie Norton Smith of Canton, two sisters, Dixie (Butch) Minor of Lewistown, Diana (Jim) Eyman of Urbana, OH, four grandchildren, Jessica Norton, Paige (Trevor) LeValley, Kristina (Brandon) Schieferecke, Julianne Norton, one great grandchild, Bennett Schieferecke and one sister-in-law, Linda Cruser.
Also preceding her in death is one brother, John Cruser.
Doris worked at J.C. Penney's and Crawford's Furniture in Canton. She volunteered at Graham Hospital and was a member of the Canton Elks Lodge #626. She enjoyed the Chicago Cubs, K.C. Chiefs, NASCAR and watching Tiger Woods play golf.
A private family funeral service will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with a celebration of life to be held in April.
Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
