Mark C. "Papa Smurf" Coulter

Canton- Mark C. “Papa Smurf” Coulter, 70, of Canton, passed away at 12:25 PM on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Graham Hospital in Canton. He was born on August 13, 1952 in Canton, a son of Arthur and Eloise (Wallace) Coulter. He married Mary Howard on February 10, 1989 in Canton. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Christy (Eric) Welch of Florida; Cari (Mike) Hinton of Colorado; Craig Coulter of Colorado; Brandon (Jenna) Martin of Farmington; Cory (Kellie Holder) Coulter of Canton; Beau (Kyndra Bitner) Coulter of Canton; eleven grandchildren, and one brother, Terry Dean Coulter of Fiatt.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Larry Reagan, Dick and Jerry Coulter, and one grandson, Miration.

Mark graduated from Spoon River College with honors, earning his associate degree, and later working for the College, as a welding instructor.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory, where visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, January 23, 2023. Mike Quick will officiate. Burial will take place in Fiatt Cemetery, following the services on Tuesday. Memorials can be made to the Coulter family to help with funeral expenses.
