He was born December 22, 1925 in Gilchrist, IL to Simone and Mary Viano.
He married Betty Bybee on January 19, 1950 in Canton. She preceded him in death on August 12, 2021.
Also surviving are his children, Edward Viano of Canton, Lewis (Lori) Viano of Canton, Chester Viano of Lilburn, GA, Diana June Viano of Wichita, KS, Deana Jean Viano of Peoria, three sisters, Adelaide Barnes, Anna DeLost, Josephine Viano, one grandchild and one great grandchild.
John attended trade school in Springfield and started working at the Rock Island Arsenal and then joined the Marine Corp during WWII. He returned to work at International Harvester from where he retired. He worked as a farmer throughout his life. He enjoyed walking and watching sports, especially the Cubs and Bears. He was a proud American/Italian.
A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. There will be no visitation.
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton has been entrusted with arrangements.
Memorials may be made to St Mary’s Catholic Church.
