Vernon Dale Landis

Vernon Dale Landis, 93, of Canton IL, passed away at 5:12 PM on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Big Meadows in Savanna, IL. He was born on October 23, 1928 in Mason City, IL to Marvin H. and Ila K. (Auxier) Landis. He first married Patricia Stevenor and later married A. Geraldine Harper. They both preceded him in death.

Vernon was also preceded in death by his parents; three step-chidren, Carol (Harper) Kendall and Paula (Harper) Barnes and Ed Harper; one sister, Marvel J. (the late Doug) Bitner; and one niece, RaLynn Beaird.

He is survived by three children, Cynthia (Jim) Olson of Tyrone, Georgia, Elizabeth (Charles) Tucker of Fulton, IL, and Ron (the late Laurie) Landis of Maquon, IL; and one step-child, Cindy (Larry) Lawver. Vernon was also blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Vernon worked at Caterpillar for 35 years and retired on November 1, 1980. He enjoyed woodworking, country music, and car shows. If you need something fixed you called Vernon. In his bible he wrote that he loved his children. He will be greatly missed by his family.
