Betty Mae Wilson Dixon, 64, Born Betty Mae Higgins in Fergus Falls, MN to James and Ruth (Bengston) Higgins. Betty moved to Alexandria in 1985, where she had all five children. Betty worked many jobs but ultimately loved being able to watch her children grow. While living in Alexandria, Betty also welcomed many grandchildren, who everyone knew were so important to her. Betty moved to Illinois in 2002 and married Charles (Chuck) Dixon. Betty also took on the role of grandma and mother to granddaughter, Shantae Butcher while living in Illinois when Shantae was young. Betty struggled with different health conditions as she grew older but never let it stop her from visiting her family in Alexandria, MN and Grand Forks, ND. Betty was known for her generous heart and funny personality; she would do what she could for anyone. Betty always made sure her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren always knew just how much she loved them. On January 23rd, 2022 Betty passed away peacefully at the Graham Hospital in Canton Illinois.
Betty will be joining Heaven being greeted by her mother Ruth Higgins, father James Higgins, brother John Higgins, sister Barb Higgins, niece Heather Higgins and husband Charles (Chuck) Dixon.
Betty is survived and missed deeply by daughter Stephanie Olson of Macomb, IL. Grandchildren Blake, Hunter and Matthew and Great Granddaughters Harper and Everly. Daughter Teresa Kruzan of Quincy, IL. Granddaughter Shantae Butcher. Son Michael Wilson of Saint David, IL. Grandchildren Zachary, Paige, Abigail and Jazmine. Great Grandchildren Serenity, Kylar and Zayden. Son Timothy Wilson (Christen Coss) of Grand Forks, ND. Grandchildren Makiyah, Brandi, Dominick and Aspen. Great Grandson Ryder. Daughter Shanna Wilson (Larry Butcher) of Canton, IL. Grandsons Deontae and Tyrese.
