Jean Peterson

Elmwood – Jean Peterson, 79, of Elmwood, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 3, 1942 in Canton, IL, a daughter of Baxter and Helen (Whited) Lightfoot. She married Dale Peterson on September 16, 1960 in Farmington, IL. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2019.

Jean is also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Don Lightfoot; and twin sister, Jane Johnson.

She is survived by four children, Cindy (Mike) Daniels, Mike (Karen) Peterson, Linda (Darrell) Elliott, and Mark (Kim) Peterson; nine grandchildren, Kurt, Keith, Greg, Eric, Michele, Brian, Rachel, Haley, and Ben; seven great-grandchildren, Adriane, Brayden, Logan, Owen, Morgun, Avery, and expecting Luke any day.

Jean worked as a pharmacy technician for several years at Rogers Pharmacy in Farmington. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Women of the Moose in Farmington. She loved going on ski trips, boating, and several sporting events for grandkids.

Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. A visitation will be held the same day from noon – 1: 30 PM. Burial will follow at Trivoli Cemetery in Trivoli, IL. Rev. David Swain will officiate. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Farmington, IL.
