Dennis Whitehead

Springfield - Dennis R. Whitehead, 72, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022.

He was born on April 27, 1949 in Canton to Delbert and Lucille "Elsie" (Blakely) Whitehead. They preceded him in death.
He married Pamela Scothorne on July 2, 1988 in Springfield. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Dennis (Carol) M. Whitehead of Springfield, Stacey (Joel) Gallon of Phoenix, AZ, Arden Whitehead of Springfield, two sisters, Linda (James) Swope of Maples Mill, Bonnie (Ron) Fletcher of Mason City, two grandchildren, Katie and Sean.
One brother Lyle also preceded him in death.
Dennis worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation. He was a member of Cherry Hill Church in Springfield and enjoyed to model railroad.
He served in the U.S. Army serving in Korea and the Vietnam era.
Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
