Kristin Marie Campbell

Canton-Kristin Marie Campbell, 27, passed away on December 7, 2019 at OSF St Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born on January 10, 1992 in Canton to Kevin and Kimberly (Finley) Campbell.  They survive.

Also surviving is her children Audreyana Harvey, Kinsley Washington, maternal grandparents, Leona Heller, Arthur Finley, two sisters Brandi Campbell and Cameron Campbell.

Kristin worked as a caregiver in home health.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Norma J. Reid

Norma J. Reid, 87, of Canton, formerly of Birmingham, Alabama passed away at 7:15 PM on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Farmington Country Manor in Farmington. She was born on January 18, 1932 in Manhattan, New York, a daughter of Charles and Carmen Vega.

Surviving is her children, Richard (Patty) Reid of Canton; James and Travis King; Lillia Curran; two grandchildren, Melissa and Jared, and a beloved niece, Linda Cino.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Charles and Joseph, and one sister.

Norma was a homemaker, and of the Catholic Faith, where she served her faith by being a Carmelite Nun for over 40 years.

Janet Chambers

Macomb - Janet Chambers, 85, of Macomb, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Wesley Village in Macomb.
She was born on August 30, 1934, in Canton, to Charles B. and Laura M. (Bohannan) Hammond.
She is survived by her husband David Chambers, whom she married on January 18, 1954 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton.
Also surviving are five children, Brad (Kathy) Chambers, Linc (Pat) Chambers, Darren (Kathy) Chambers, Chris (Vicki) Chambers, and Rachel (Ben) Liechti, one brother Charles Junior Hammond, six grandchildren, Jessie, Jenni, Jessica, Shane, Mallory, and Hannah and seven great grandchildren, Emmett, Jack, Emma, Nora Kate, Madeline, Roman, and Riden.
Preceding her in death are her parents, and one brother Robert Hammond.
When Janet and David first married, she worked as a trained beautician, later she enjoyed cutting and styling her friends and family's hair for all her life. Janet and David owned and operated Prairieland Rentals from 1975 until 1999, where she enjoyed many years of wedding planning. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Macomb, she enjoyed crafting, antiques, baking and reading. Janet enjoyed time around the holidays, but most of all she loved and cherished spending time with all of her family.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Vivian E. Kauzlarich

Canton – Vivian E. Kauzlarich, 91, of Canton, passed away at 11:59 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Graham Hospital E.R. She was born on October 9, 1928 in Fiatt, IL to Vernice Gilbert and Nettie Pearl (Sauerwein) Harr. She married Joseph A. Kauzlarich on July 8, 1950, he preceded her in death on March 11, 1998.

Vivian was also preceded in death by her parents and was the last living siblings of eleven.

Surviving are two daughters, Roxanna (Ed) Kuebler of Hanna City and Ricarda (Jeff) Durrant of Slidell, LA; two grandchildren, Creighton Durrant and Mikaela (Aaron) Miller; one future great-grandchild in the spring; and her cat, Pickles.

Vivian worked in the Cafeteria for Canton Union School District #66. She loved ceramics, oil painting, cooking, crafts, gardening, and reading. Vivian was a special mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Rev. Kevin Van Tine will officiate. Burial will follow at Wiley Cemetery in rural Ellisville, IL. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the funeral home. Ruth Helen Essex

Farmington – Ruth Helen Essex, 90, of Farmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family’s love on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Farmington Country Manor from pneumonia and cerebral amyloid angiopathy due to Alzheimer’s. She was born on August 8, 1929 in Peoria, the youngest child of Ben and Lucy (Cox) Ewalt. She married John H. Essex on November 26, 1950 at the Farmington United Methodist Church, he preceded her in death on June 2, 2002. The family prefers to think she was waiting all week to join her husband at his heavenly birthday party. What an entrance that must have been.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Jeff and Jayson Essex, three brothers, Bruce, Paul, and Elwood, and two sisters, Eleanor and Esther.

Surviving are three children, Jennifer (Mark) Andrews of Trivoli, Joel Essex of Farmington, and Judy Essex of Canton; two daughters-in-law, Mary Essex Brennan and Candis Essex Fralick; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Cindy), Jared (Kelly), Chad (Jesse), Kyle (Laura), McKenzie (Brad), Jade, and Justin; nine great-grandchildren, Trinity, Hannah, Ava, Quinn, Coraline, Ben, Bekah, Ella, and Brogan; sister-in-law, Marlyn Ewalt of Canton; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; beloved childhood friend, Bobbi Routson; and beloved friend and Farmington Country Manor roommate, Carol Danz.

Ruth was a lifelong resident of Farmington. She graduated from Farmington High School in 1949. She worked for Block and Kuhl in Peoria after high school and then met John and married him the following fall. Ruth was a dedicated mother to her 5-J’s even though she would at times spout out the wrong sibling’s name, which made everyone laugh. She never missed a sporting event, music or band concerts, school plays and was a room mother for over 12 years straight.

Ruth has an infectious smile that drew strangers in. She was well known for her cooking, baking, and decorating skills. She was a 50-year member of the Farmington Women of the Moose and Daughters of Rebekah Lodge. Ruth enjoyed her retirement years with her husband and family at their cabin on the Mississippi River fishing and sitting around bonfires laughing and passing down stories to cherish.

Janet Kay Hill

Mendota– Janet Kay Hill, 68, of Mendota, passed away Friday, December 6, 2019 at St. Paul Medical Center in Mendota.

She was born on May 20, 1951 in Aurora Colorado, to Donald Gene and Margaret E. (Orwig) Hill. They preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sisters, Donna Rae (Butch Parsons) Howdeshell of Mendota, Wanda Jene (Kenneth) Moore of Herrin Illinois, and Nancy Ann (Thomas) Morrisey of Kissimmee Florida.
Preceding her in death are her parents, and one sister Carol Lynn Davis.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton where visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be held at Prairie City Cemetery in Prairie City.

Diane Marie Frisell

Canton - Diane Marie Frisell, 78, of Canton, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Renaissance Care Center in Canton.

She was born on September 1, 1941 in Chicago, IL to Emidigio and Sylvia (Kotila) Angellotti. She married Drake Frisell on July 28, 1962 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Don Angellotti, and nephew Bobby Stowell.

Surviving are three children, Keith (Ann) Frisell of Peshtigo, WI, Craig (Gary Weaver) Frisell of Chicago, and Tina (Dave) Howell of Canton, grandchildren, Jesse (Melissa Griffin) Derry, Christian (Michelle Armstrong) Howell, Ethan, Nico, and Katelyn Frisell, brothers, Tom Angellotti, Dennis Angellotti, Ken Angellotti, Dale Angellotti, sisters, Arlene (the late Robert) Stowell, Debby (the late William) Hedrick, Mary Plaza, Karen Orlando, Luann (Al) Haisman, one sister-in-law, Barbara Angellotti and many Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces, and Great-Nephews.

Diane was the oldest of ten children. She retired from Baxter in Round Lake, IL in 2005. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Canton. She enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, singing with her brother, playing bingo, cards, and board games. She was an avid Bears and Cubs fan. She loved music, especially Elvis. She enjoyed seeing Elvis impersonator, Junior Talley, perform several times. Most of all, she lived her life to the fullest and loved her family and friends with all of her heart.

A private service will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her church or to Renaissance Care Center (activities department) in Canton.
