She was born April 1, 1927, in Media Township in the homeplace where her mother was born. Her parents were Robert E. and Ruth E. (Harbison) Bigger. She married Heye H. Peters in Peoria on April 7, 1946. He passed away December 29, 2019.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Lou (Scott) Perrilles of rural Fairview, and Tina Marie (Stephen) Kellstadt of rural Brimfield; nine grandchildren, Heye Peters, III, Sena Peters, Lydia Perrilles, Lucas (Erin) Perrilles, Isaac Perrilles, Sophia (Caleb) Fink, Skylar (Rob) Janssen, Amelia (Tyler) Hensley, and Claudia Perrilles; one great-grand daughter, Presley Janssen; and one sister, Mary Golden of LaMesa, CA.
Preceding her in death was one son, Heye Peters, Jr; two brothers; and three sisters. She was of the Lutheran faith. Over the years, she was a faithful member of her church. She was a Sunday School teacher and active in LWML and Girl Scout leader. She was a former secretary and then a stay-at-home mom and homemaker. She had a passion for reading, quilting, and craftwork, but her greatest love was for her family and the family dogs.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood. A private burial will take place at Brimfield Township Cemetery.
