She was born at home in Logan Township, on September 4, 1932, to John and Grace (Riekena) Uphoff. They preceded her in death as well as a daughter LuAnn Scott, grandson Christopher Gass, brother, Kenny Uphoff, and sister Bernice Heppner.
Hazel married William Scott in 1950, they shared over 60 years of marriage before he preceded her in death 2013.
She is survived by five children, Carolyn (Larry) Gass of Peoria, John (Barb) Scott of Peoria, William (Georgia) Scott of Georgia, Cheryl (Dennis) West of Cuba, and Stan (Nancy) Scott of Lake Camelot, ten grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and a few great great grandchildren.
Hazel enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Michigan State Basketball teams. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and entertaining in her home especially hosting for holidays. Most of all Hazel enjoyed spending time and taking care of her family.
Cremation rites will be accorded with Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton.
